How to Celebrate the New Year

Most people view the new year to welcome in a an entirely new calendar. Traditionally, the new year starts at the beginning of the month, however it could also be celebrated at any time of the year.

Romans kept promises for Janus

Over time, Romans made promises to Janus for the coming year. They offered sacrifices Janus and exchanged gifts on New Year's Day. They also made a resolution to make in the form of a promise to behave well in the coming year.
